Mrs. rodriguez and the ducklings
Aligning with standards for 2nd grade, last week students were taught how to read a recipe. To make this process more fun, students participated in a group cooking project. After reading the story "Hedgehog Bakes a Yellow Cake", our students mixed the batter for our very own yellow cake- adding butter, sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla extract and whipping it to perfection. After taking it home to bake, students enjoyed a small slice of the cake during Lunch. It was so fun for the students to see their hard work become "REAL!"
Please label your child's water bottle with their initials before they bring them to school. I am throwing away many unclaimed plastic water bottles each day.
Yesterday, students were invited to try out for the Second Grade Talent show, called 2nd Grade's Got Talent! We had a variety of acts including bike riding tricks, caricatures, gymnastics, comedy acts, magic, vocalists, dance and instrumental performances. Students came prepared with their equipment, scripts and energy! It was fun for all! All students who participated have been given a role in our show. Look forward to our performance on Wednesday, November 30 at 10:30 AM (Reading Buddies time) on the Green Hill. We hope to see you there!
